Cats have always had the reputation of being aloof and quite independent. They have also been accused of not paying attention to anyone around them unless they were feeling hungry or wanted attention on their time schedule. Sometimes a cat will simply act strangely and it is very hard for the owner to understand the behavior and figure out exactly what it is that the cat wants.

One the most common behaviors which almost every cat exhibits is the tendency to want to rub their head on places throughout the home. The act of depositing his saliva on objects also leaves the scent of the cat which will mark that object as being a part of the cat's territory. When someone new comes into your home, your cat will mark them in an effort to make them feel like a part of the group. This behavior can be particularly frustrating to those who are allergic to cats.
